Welcome to Mapless Adventures! My name is Nicole. This is my journey through my unmapped life. The ups and downs about entering into adulthood and beyond. The good, the bad, the ugly. This is the real me. This is my life. My Mapless Adventure!
Growing up I had this plan: go to college, graduate college, get a job and live in Arizona. Totally Mapped OUT. Then Graduate school graduation hit. My life came to a screeching halt. I didn’t know where I wanted to start my new career. Would I go back to Iowa with all my college friends, stay in my hometown in Arizona or go some place very new and exciting?
Thankfully, my journey before and just after graduation from both my undergrad and my graduate degree, lead me to studying abroad for three months to Italy, one month of traveling Europe, traveling down to Nicaragua on a Speech Language Pathology specific Mission Trip, two week Harley Davidson Daddy-Daughter Road Trip from AZ to ID, and countless other random excursions around the USA. These guided me to believe that I could take on any challenge, experience and adventure head on.
Because of those experiences leading up till my departure into the “REAL” world, I chose to accept an opportunity to leave my comfort zone of Arizona and move to the Pacific Northwest. To a small, lumber mill, industrial type costal town 3 hours away from Seattle.
It’s four years later and I have left Washington, and embarked on a new and total mapless adventure. I have relocated to the island of Saint Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, located in the Caribbean, where I am working as a speech language pathologist in special education. Quite the change from geriatrics.
I’m a certified scuba diver, photography addict, outdoors enthusiast, Young Living Essential Oil distributor and lover, a believer in God the heavenly father, volleyball playing athlete, (grand)daughter, sister, and auntie to two nephews and a niece, taking on each mapless adventure as they present themselves.
My mapless adventures have included several trips to Canada, many hiking, snowshoeing, and camping trips around Washington, coastal and countryside road trips, Marathon Training and completion (26.2 miles), winning a two week trip to Mexico, long weekend getaways to Puerto Rico, boat trips in and around the Virgin Islands, and surviving 2 Category 5 hurricanes (Irma AND Maria), and countless others. Thank you for joining me along this crazy, beautiful unmapped adventure, I get to call the story of my life.
